Social Media: It’s Like One Big Party!

Thanks for coming back! I'm glad you're here. Please leave a comment to let me know what your thoughts are on this post and then join this blog on the lower right in the Google FriendConnect box. Have a great day!

I was thinking about titling this post “How To Properly Use Social Media”, and while that’s a great description of what this post is about, it’s also a bit boring.

And that would be a bit ironic given the topic of the post!

“Why?” you ask?

Because as Perry Belcher explains in the video below, social media is like one big party, and if you’re the boring dude at the party, you’re probably not makin’ a whole lotta friends.

Boring is a bad thing to be at parties, in marketing, and definitely in social media.  And to be a honest, it’s something I’m working to overcome since I’m more of a “just the facts” type of communicator…at least online anyway.

Guess it’s one of the things I’ll be working on this year – and probably the progress of which will be the topic of many posts to come.

Watch this great video by Perry Belcher if you want to truly understand how to use social media effectively – it’s one of the most simple and concrete examples I’ve seen yet.
